Shopping with The Musical Source
Our policies are organized below to help schools, churches, ensembles, educators, and individual musicians quickly find the information they need.
Can’t find the title you need?
We can help locate printed sheet music from domestic and international publishers, even when it is not listed on our website. Send us the title, composer, arranger, voicing, instrumentation, or any details you have. Specialized research may require several business days.
Ordering, Quotes & Pricing
Special Orders
We can help locate printed sheet music from domestic and international publishers, even when it is not listed on our website. Contact us with a specific title or request assistance researching repertoire. Specialized research may require several business days.
Quotes
We provide personalized quotes upon request. Please include the titles, quantities, voicings or instrumentations, and any other relevant details. Most quotes are completed within one business day. Larger or more specialized requests may require additional time.
Discount Programs
We offer competitive discounts on most printed music purchased by professional musicians, churches, schools, school districts, and community organizations. Discounts vary by publisher, title, format, and quantity.
Digital products, print-on-demand titles, imports, and publications from certain publishers may not qualify. Discounts for individual customers may be available on a case-by-case basis. Contact us to request a quote or discuss available pricing.
Pricing
Publisher prices are subject to change without notice. Orders will be invoiced at the publisher’s current price when the order is processed. We will contact you before proceeding if a significant price change affects your order.
Sales tax will be charged on taxable orders in Virginia and New Jersey unless a valid exemption certificate is on file.
Payment Methods
We accept ACH payments, checks, and all major credit cards.
Approved institutional customers—including churches, schools, school districts, community organizations, and music retailers—may submit a purchase order or apply for an open account with net-30 payment terms. Contact us for information about establishing an account.
Fulfillment & Shipping
Order Fulfillment
We accept orders by phone, email, and through our website. Most orders are fulfilled within 10–14 business days, although timing may vary based on publisher inventory, production schedules, and shipping conditions.
Please contact us before ordering if you have a firm deadline or require expedited service. We will be happy to review availability and delivery options with you.
Shipping
For web orders, you may select the shipping service you prefer at checkout.
For non-web orders, we generally ship with UPS Ground or USPS Ground Advantage and make every reasonable effort to select an efficient and cost-effective method. Expedited and international shipping are also available. Contact us for a shipping estimate or special delivery request.
30-Day “On-Approval” Service
Choral octavos may be provided on approval from our current inventory for up to 30 days upon request. Eligibility and availability vary by customer, title, and publisher.
Returns & Order Issues
Returns
Orders are generally nonreturnable unless they are defective or were sent in error. All returns require prior authorization from The Musical Source and must be requested within 45 days of the order date.
Please contact us for authorization and return instructions before sending any merchandise back. Unauthorized returns may not qualify for a refund or account credit.
Approved returns must be received in new, resalable condition and may be subject to publisher restrictions, return shipping costs, and a 20% restocking fee.
Incorrect or Damaged Items
Please contact us promptly if an item arrives damaged or incorrect. We will provide replacement, return, or credit instructions as appropriate.
Retain the merchandise, shipping carton, packing materials, and shipping label until the issue has been resolved. Photographs may be required for carrier damage claims.
